The page below the cut is no longer a good guide to the most important things I have to contribute. I am leaving it for historical purposes, and will presumably revamp this page someday. For now, a quick index to key material:
I am the Executive Directory of The Seasteading Institute, a
small research organization (applying for nonprofit status)
who's mission is "To establish permanent, autonomous ocean
communities to enable experimentation and innovation with
diverse social, political, and legal systems."
I am a prolific blogger. This
is a list of my blogs (and my wife & son's blogs). The entries are not well tagged or organized, but I'm working on it, as you can see below.
I have collected my viewpoints and blog tags on diet and exercise. As these areas are a big part of how people feel, and my take is quite different than the mainstream wisdom, this is important stuff.
Tortuga - I helped found this Mountain View retrofit
cohousing community. As of fall 2008, we have 13 adults and 3 kids.
If you are interested in cohousing in Silicon valley, read about joining our community.Or email me for invites to our parties.
I think that's the important stuff. What's below is more about my 20's, what's above is about my 30's :).
Creative Output
Job! I now have a real J-O-B, working for Google. This means less time to make my website interesting, but more time on making the web itself interesting. I spent my first 2.5 years working in the Evaluation group within Search Quality, on measuring, tracking, and understanding search. In August 2008 I moved to the Economics group, to work on analyzing ad auctions. (Patri left Google to work at The Seasteading Institute, see below).
Writing
Most of my writing is now done on blogs. Here is a list of present and past blogs I've contributed too. Or just go straight to my main personal blog.

A letter written by the Scripps College development
office when college President Nancy Bekavac's dog died. Funny
but true.
Did you know that you can legally obtain dried poppy pods for use in floral arrangements? Just make sure you don't put them in a coffee grinder, then an espresso machine, because poppy tea is illegal in the USA! You can purchase decorative poppy pods from our sponsor:
