On the other hand, most powerful ciphers get broken. New theories emerge and we are nowhere near (and maybe we'll never be) saying: we have ANY mathematical guarantee of security of any "classical" (ie not quantum) PKC/block cipher/whatever. OTOH, quantum crypto seems to have stronger theoretical properties... We'll see in 30 years. Moreover, most crypto software was broken not because of theoretical deficiencies but reckless implementation. Human factor must never ever be ignored.
