Olive Oil Diet, Day 1 (07/14/03)
{patri, posted to patrissimo and alpinebutterfly}
Rob is obsessed with the calories per penny of various foods. Ramen is 38, and Rob called Safeway at 2am to determine that olive oil is 70. I said this meant you could fulfill your daily caloric requirement for 30 cents/day. Vitamin deficiences were raised, and we decided you'd need a multivitamin too, and 1$/day was more reasonable. So that's 1 hour/week of a minimum-wage job. What a land and time of plenty we live in!
Rob was doubtful that one could realistically just live on olive oil. "That sounds like a dare", replied Patri. "Um...sure", said Rob. Therefore, starting today, Rob & I will attempt to sustain ourselves on a diet consisting entirely of olive oil, water, and multivitamins. Not sure for how long, at least a day, and at most until we head off to Treasa & John's wedding at the end of the week. Ah, the things we do for science.
Our daily ration:

I'm starving. (And the sympathy I deserve would just about cover the area of a Sierpinski triangle [note, linked page runs Java])
