The Flip Side (5/30/03)
I'm experiencing the flip side of college. It turns out that its a lot less fun to be the one working and letting other people have fun for you than to be the one having fun for other people. The feeling of righteous moral superiority helps some, but not enough. Not that I'd rather have fun than work, but its a matter of balance, and this last quarter at Stanford is quite unbalanced. Perhaps those envious looks weren't always because of my long eyelashes and big brown eyes...;). Sigh, yet another blow to the ego. Fortunately that fortress was built to last!
Its only super-intense through monday and moderately intense through next friday, though, and there are only so many hours in the day that I can work at this point. And once next week ends, I will be free, free to take over the world! (That is kinda the goal, actually). But for now, its 12 hours of work a day, so back to it...my google search refinement package is really taking shape, I wish I could spend more time on it and didn't have that other term paper to write.
