Just joined Friendster (if you're a friend of mine, feel free to add patri-at-clevername-dot-net to your friends list), which is kinda like a combination of six degrees and a personals site. I was put yet again in the position of trying to summarize myself in a brief description. Its challenging in a fun yet frustrating way, kinda like writing poetry. Trying to pack a lot of meaning into a little space. I like the introspection it causes - "Who am I? What matters to me?". Anyway, here is the result:

License plate reads "FRRREAK". adjectives: short, intelligent, energetic, opinionated, adventurous, atheist, libertarian, anarchist, independent, egotistical, confident, overconfident, insomniac, muscular, weird, jack-of-all trades, oblivious, knowledgeable. I do wacky, interesting things on occasion, but spend most of my time staring at screens. I view many parts of life as games and constantly seek to improve my strategies. I find math easy but doing laundry and opening my mail hard. I like to like things. I'm an easily distracted dilletante who is much better at starting things than finishing them. My life is a battle of laziness vs. ambition, adventurism vs. paranoia, doing what I want vs. not getting arrested. I used to be a legendary hedonist, but I've grown up and discovered the satisfaction of working towards long-term goals I am passionate about, and am still finding my balance. I like to work at fun and have fun at work.
