Today I joined Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Rifle Association, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. It probably won't do much good against the police state forming around us, but at least it makes me feel better. When you can't identify with your nation, its nice to at least belong to something.

In cheerier news, I'm going to be back in the academic saddle starting next week, doing it hardcore this time. I'm returning to Stanford University to finish my Masters in Computer Science, and I'm simulataneously starting an online MBA program at Cardean University. Its gonna be a busy year :). The MSCS is to improve my pay rate / hireability for consulting / programming jobs (bread-n-butter work). The MBA is so I can start a business building seasteads (pie-in-the-sky save-the-world stuff). Or anything else, for that matter, but its the idea of a shot at freedom, soon, that really motivates me.
