Volunteers run a lot of stuff at Pennsic, including the Troll Booth at the entrance, where incoming people have their ID's checked, sign waivers, and go through the general red tape of registering. I was working Troll one evening when I saw a guy with a Claremont smog shirt on. Hmm. "Hey, which school did you go to?", I asked. "Harvey Mudd", he replied. "Hey, me too!", I said. "I graduated in ?96?", he replied. "98", I said, "Name is Patri". "Oh yeah, I think I remember you", he said. "I'm Geoff". 650 people, the other side of the country, and I still run into Mudders.
