First, some medical humour. In preparation for my appointment at the Stanford Sleep Disorders Clinic in January, I was given a long multiple choice questionaire to fill out. Some of the questions were rather amusing:

40. I have dream-like images (hallucinations) when I awaken in the morning even though I know I am not asleep.

[well, that depends what kind of mushrooms i put in the pasta sauce the previous evening]

51. I used to bang my head as a child.

[And it left me with a big dent in my skull and no short-term memory. Do you think that's why I can't...uh...wait...what is it that I can't do?]

64. I find myself doing things which make no sense, such as writing nonsense instead of notes, or mixing together chocolate and gravy.

[mmm...chocolate gravy...]

85. I am unhappy about my sex life

[Lets see, I'm a 23 year old male, and I don't have sex with a different gorgeous woman every day, so I guess the answer would have to be "yes"]

98. Some family memeber has died suddenly in their sleep.

[Yeah, thats right, both my parents and all my siblings died in their sleep, without a mark on them, faces twisted in horrible grimaces of pain. And there is that family legend that says Freddy Krueger will kill each of us before we reach 24. And I'm 23. Do you think thats why I have trouble sleeping?]
