On my application to Harvey Mudd College, there was a blank that said "fill this however you want", for which I wrote the following poem.
by Patri Friedman
Four pearly years of my future,
lay softly in your grasp;
in you I must place all my trust -
though on my conscience it does rasp.
It's now in HMC's control,
how I'm made to bend and mold,
I won't be bitter if I am a knitter,
Or even a doughty adventurer bold.
Have caution with the gems of my youth,
temper justice with mercy please;
So that some day, I can take them away
As happy treasured memories.
